First GLBT Bar I ever visited. The first time I visited The Bar was in 1996. I would later become a frequent visitor in 1997 but then sporadically visit. Never that there was anything wrong with it, just couldn't get out all that often. Anyway, the atmosphere is very homey in the Lounge area where many gather, drink, talk and play games. The Johnny Angel dance floor is the place to go when you wanna shake your tail feather. But the best part of The Complex is The Gilded Cage showroom. The finest female illusionists give it their all on Friday and Saturday nights. And Thursday nights they let you bring out your inner Drag Queen with open stage. The only complaint I have about The Bar Complex is the last time I was there, the cigarette machine wasn't working properly. I feel it is a place where I can go and really be myself. When you turn 21 and need a place to go for a good time, enter 224 E. Main Street, Lexington, Ky on your GPS, park either behind or at the parking garage down the street, come in and take a load off.
