The Bluegrass Opera is proud to present the first ever professional production of "The Mothers of Ludlow," a new musical by Paul and Martha Boesing. Written in 2008, the show tells the true story of the 1914 Ludlow coal mine strike, a pivotal event in the history of American mining. We premiered two excerpts from the work in our very first program (2008), and now, in honor of the centennial anniversary of the events at Ludlow, BgO is thrilled to present the entire work!

Tickets for Ludlow are $25 for adults, and $20 for seniors (age 65 and up). And since the events at Ludlow are so historically significant (especially for us in a coal mining state like Kentucky), we've reduced our student price to only $10! Tickets can be ordered via TicketMaster (click here), or from the Lexington Center Box Office (their phone number is (859-233-3535). NOTE: The Lexington Center adds a service charge to all internet and telephone orders. The only way to avoid this service charge is to get your tickets in person at the box office during business hours (near Rupp Arena).
The show is directed by Bill Barto and conducted by Lorne Dechtenberg, with lighting design by Daniel L. Perez, so don't miss this one-of-a-kind theater experience!
